More significant change ahead!

As I write this the world is again threatening a global financial meltdown, or at least a WFC (Western Financial Crisis) and the probability of continued retail uncertainty though Christmas and beyond is ever more likely. The Racing Room has struggled through and survived all so far but what the future brings is nothing but nervousness for all.

This year several key players in the motorsport supply industry have called it a day and it does make us wonder if it is due in part to past forces or perhaps, more kindly, a forecasting of the future. As one of the few independent retailers in Australia we have possibly a closer connection to our clients and have the ability to ‘swing’ with demand a little more freely which is clearly a positive in this economy.

Not dwelling too much on the negative stuff, you will soon notice some significant changes in our format. The same service and supply ethic will remain, competitive pricing will continue and the popular Traction newsletter will maintain its monthly digest however many marginal items will go and an overall limitation in stock levels will be applied. From what I can gather this is in keeping with similar business around the world with whom we deal with and should see us competitive through Christmas, 2012 and beyond.

So with the support of you and our many other loyal customers, we wish you a happy and safe holiday season and trust we can service you through our next decade.
